This Dog is Barking: A Comic Epic on UG

October 24, 2011

Pic from Graphic Novel on UGA no non-sense, and no serious Comic Epic on UG (a graphic novel) is coming out soon thanks to the crazy non-stop zeal and fantasy of the devil’s duo, Nicolas C Grey – a comic artist, and James Farley – a text-writer. They have been working on it since almost a year or so and it may hit the stands now any time, may be in a few months. Seriousness is a seed of cancer and somehow that is knowingly or unknowingly seeded in all our holy scriptures and teachings. Life is simply to laugh. But we carry life as a log of long dead wood. UG’s utterances or barkings are not to be put in another holy epic and hence the affront effort of Nicolas and James in presenting UG and his barkings in a bare but bold comic graphics is much appreciated and it is fittingly more appropriate as well. It’s a cosmic comic there, so to say.

This Dog Barking – The Strange Story of UG Krishnamurti

The following excerpts are reproduced here from their website, along with a few atypical sample graphics:

This Dog Barking (intro)

The iconoclast and ‘anti-guru’ UG Krishnamurti’s (1918 – 2007) only advice was that people should throw away their crutches and free themselves from the stranglehold of cultural conditioning and the tyranny of thought.

Nicolas and James with Chandrasekhar and Suguna in UG room, BangaloreThis Dog Barking – The Strange Story of UG Krishnaumrti chronicles the bizarre history of The Cosmic Naxalite; from his troubled childhood with the Theosophists and discipleship’s and subsequent disillusion with many of the leading spiritual teachers of the twentieth century, to his catastrophic personal life and years of homelessness and destitution in London and Paris.

In 1967 UG underwent his ‘Calamity’ – a series of biological mutations which left him in the ‘natural state’ – functioning without the interference of thought.

With no fixed address, no followers and no organization UG spent the next 30 years traveling the world and giving his uncompromising message that ‘mind is a myth’ and the human condition should be demystified and de-psychologized and viewed in purely physiological terms.

This Dog Barking (synopsis)

Beginning with his unconventional upbringing by the Theosophists in Madras, This Dog Barking tells the turbulent life-story of one of the most radical and unrecognized philosophers of the twentieth century.

Following the death of his mother from childbirth complications UG Krishnamurti spent his early life in the company of many of the period’s most influential gurus and spiritual masters. But his years with The Theosophists, Swami Sivananda, Ramana Maharishi and J Krishnamurti only served to convince him that the entire spiritual tradition was founded on dishonesty and delusion.

Similarly unimpressed by the insights offered by western philosophy and psychology, which he studied at Madras University, he opted for family life and married Kusuma Kumari. A decision he
regretted the day after the wedding.

In 1955 UG and Kusuma, together with their children left for a new life in America, where UG built up a successful career on the spiritual lecture circuit. However, he soon tired of this and in 1959 informed his wife that their marriage was over. A distraught Kusuma returned to India with the children,. Where she died a few years later following a period of mental illness.

UG meanwhile began a five year period of aimless wandering around Europe, supporting himself by giving tarot readings and Indian cookery lessons and living almost entirely on cheese.

He finally came to the end of the line in Geneva in 1965. With nowhere else to go, he presented himself as destitute to the Indian Consulate, where he and the 63 year old Embassy translator, Valentine De Kerven, struck up a friendship. Valentine gave up her job in order to support UG, and this unusual relationship was to continue until Valentine’s death in 2005.

In 1967 UG underwent his ‘calamity’ – a series of biological changes which left him in the ‘natural state’ – functioning without the unnecessary interference of thought.

For the next 30 years UG and Valentine traveled the world, staying with friends in America, India and Europe. Despite having no fixed address or any organization a steady stream of the curious, confused and bored would seek UG out in order to hear his uncompromising message that ‘mind is a myth’ and the human condition should be demystified and de-psychologized and viewed in purely physiological terms.

Pic from Graphic Novel on UGAs well as telling the life-story of UG, including, for the first time, details of his involvement with the Bollywood starlet Parveen Babi, This Dog Barking presents all of the key concepts in his anti-philosophy, exploring his ideas on the destructive nature of thought, the fallacy of cause and effect and the fundamental role of cultural and social conditioning in what we call our identity.

Nicolas C Grey’s haunting and beautifully detailed drawings capture both the personalities and atmosphere of UG’s life and times, and vividly bring to life his uncompromising, contrary and unbalancing conversational style.

Discomforting, irreverent, intimate and nihilistic, UG’s freewheeling and radical non-teaching undermines the very foundations of human thought, freeing the hearer from illusory goals and ‘the tyranny of knowledge, beauty, goodness, truth and God’.

Wipe out all Gods, God men, and Shankaracharyas from the face of the Himalayas

November 7, 2010

The Himalayan SplendourThe snow soaked whitest peaks of the Himalayas are the nature’s splendour and wonder to the eyes of the mankind. The world’s highest peaks, including the Mount Everest (elevation: 29,035.44 ft. / 8,848 m.) and K2 (elevation: 28,251 ft. / 8, 611 m.), are located in the Himalayas mountain range. The deep valleys, the high rise range of infinite view of peaks, the roaring rocks, the lusting lakes, the glowing greens, the flowing, falling lines of whitest water streams, the whitest flower-like showering of the purest snows, the glowing light emanating from the whitest peaks and pits, with an aroma of the chilling but soothing and healing breezes dashing around, are indeed a sight of instant ‘nirvana’ for a tiny man in the Himalayas. Here is the place where he suddenly finds his ‘ego and garbage’ bag suddenly missing from his head at least for a fraction of second.

Recently (during the fourth week of October 2010) we made a voyage and visit to the Himalayas covering Haridwar, Rishikesh, and finally Kedarnath (elevation: 3, 584 m.) and Badrinath (elevation: 3,133 m.) – the much revered holiest pilgrimage places in the Himalayas.

Salute our Holy Sadhus, unlike 5-star gurus! Thanks to modern technology and inroads of well-built tar roads along the sloppy lines of the peaks of the Himalayas, a taxi can take you rounds and rounds up to the point just 14 km away from Kedarnath. From that point you can either walk the 14 km stretch or take a horse ride (horse services available) to reach Kedarnath. One of my friends and me made a ‘sankalp’ (holy determination) to walk both up and down Kedarnath and we did it with all joy and pain. My other friends half way walked and half way took horse riding to reach the place. At the starting Peaks, greens, valleys, water flows: lifepoint of this 14 km stretch there is a place called ‘Gouri Kund’, a natural hot thermal spring lake, where naturally the hot water flows and the pilgrims take a bathing dip in it. We relished our ‘holy dip’ in the flowing hot lake, both while going and returning. This natural hot water has its natural healing and medicinal value, apart from being holy, it is believed. In the vicinity of Badrinath temple also there is a hot thermal spring lake facilitating the pilgrims to take a dip or bath in the holy spring before visiting the temple. (In the belt of the Himalayas, there are quite a good number of these hot thermal lakes located at different points, and incidentally one or the other temples may also be found around there to bless your holy hot dips in the lakes, amidst the biting cold weather surrounding there.)

To reach Badrinath (the abode of Lord Vishnu) is easy, as the taxi can take you directly up to that point, no strenuous walking is needed.

‘God men, Gods, the Holy Shankaracharyas have absolutely nothing to do with the Himalayas there. The snow-clad peaks and the splendours of the Himalayas stand there absolutely bereft of Gods and God men – the stand that is absolutely cute, mute, vibrant, and eternal.’Incidentally on the days of our visit to both Kedarnath (Temple of Lord Shiva) and Badrinath (Abode of Lord Vishnu), we witnessed huge snow falls – a splendid experience. In the night we stayed at Badrinath and when we woke up at 4 in the morning, we could see only snows and whites everywhere up down far near in the entire infinite peak ranges there that our eyes could see and reach. We could see almost 3-4 inches deep layer of snows formed every where around us on things, places and paths there. We played with snow flakes there like kids in the biting morning.

SuloHimaBut all things said and unsaid, I have to make a note from the depth of my core feeling or sense that I felt amidst the Himalayas there that: ‘God men, Gods, the Holy Shankaracharyas have absolutely nothing to do with the Himalayas there. The snow-clad peaks and the splendours of the Himalayas stand there absolutely bereft of Gods and God men – the stand that is absolutely cute, mute, vibrant, and eternal.’

The peaks, the splendours stand there mute!Rather these so called Godly people are a hurdle there. The highest snow-clad peaks and the infinite views of the ranges of the grandeur of the Himalayas are eternally so fresh and full of ‘life’ there. The true liberation of the humanity may occur only when all these holy God men and Shankaracharyas are totally wiped out from the face of the Himalayas. People need to be told as to how to lead a luxurious life, rather than trapping them in the hope of attaining (false) liberation, moksha and such other holy shits.

Even an Ant can Beat Us

Ants Intelligence

Humans need to be more humble to understand that our intelligence is just peanut, and that even an ant can beat us.

An interesting paper just published in BMC Biology:

A mixed community of actinomycetes produce multiple antibiotics for the fungus farming ant Acromyrmex octospinosus. Barke J, Seipke RF, Gruschow S, Heavens D, Drou N, Bibb MJ, Goss RJM, Yu DW, Hutchings MI BMC Biology 2010, 8:109
Published: 26 August 2010
The (provisional) Full-Text of this paper may also be accessed [Link]

Interesting reports on this paper there:
Ants found to use multiple antibiotics as weed killers
Scientists at the University of East Anglia, have shown that fungus-farming ants are using multiple antibiotics as weed killers to maintain their fungus gardens.

Research led by Dr Matt “It’s also very exciting that ants not only evolved agriculture before humans but also combination therapy with natural antibiotics. Humans are just starting to realise that this is one way to slow down the rise of drug resistant bacteria – the so called superbugs.”
– Dr Matt Hutchings
Hutchings and published today in the journal BMC Biology shows that ants use the antibiotics to inhibit the growth of unwanted fungi and bacteria in their fungus cultures which they use to feed their larvae and queen.

These antibiotics are produced by actinomycete bacteria that live on the ants in a mutual
symbiosis.

Although these ants have been studied for more than 100 years this is the first demonstration that a single ant colony uses multiple antibiotics and is reminiscent of the use of multidrug therapy to treat infections in humans.

The work, which was funded by the UK Medical Research Council, has also identified a new antibiotic that could be used to treat fungal infections.

Fungiculture in the insect world is practiced by ants, termites, beetles and gall midges.

Dr Hutchings’ research investigates the Acromyrmex octospinosus leaf cutter ant, endemic in South and Central America and the southern US. These ants form the largest and most complex animal societies on earth with colonies of up to several million individuals. The garden worker ants researched were collected from three colonies in Trinidad and Tobago.

“How strange humans are! Despite their claims of high intelligence and great wisdom, they are the only animals that dirty air they breathe, poison the water they drink, and kill the soil that is the base of their food.”
– Tony Oposa Jr
(source)
Dr Hutchings said: “This was really a fun project which started with a PhD student, Joerg Barke, streaking leaf-cutting ants onto agar plates to isolate antibiotic producing bacteria. Joerg, with his colleagues Ryan Seipke and Sabine Gruschow, really pushed this project forwards and made these major discoveries. They really deserve most of the credit for this work.”

“We found a new antifungal compound that is related to a clinically important antifungal named nystatin so we’re excited about the potential of these ants and other insects to provide us with new antibiotics for medical use.

“It’s also very exciting that ants not only evolved agriculture before humans but also combination therapy with natural antibiotics. Humans are just starting to realise that this is one way to slow down the rise of drug resistant bacteria – the so called superbugs.”

“We are not created for any grander purpose than the ants that are there or the flies that are hovering around us or the mosquitoes that are sucking our blood.”

Global Warming/Warning

July 4, 2010

Global Warming is a lie, the real Global Warning is: Poverty is Pervertion of Plenty‘Wipe out Poverty, or else the Poverty may Wipe out the whole Humanity soon.’

Some Links on Poverty:
(1) Poverty Facts and Stats
Excerpts:‘According to UNICEF, 24,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.’
(2) Hunger and World Poverty
Excerpts: ‘About 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes, according to the United Nations. This is one person every three and a half seconds, as you can see on this display. Unfortunately, it is children who die most often. Yet there is plenty of food in the world for everyone.’

(4) Fighting poverty, a global challenge: by Executive Director of World Innovation Foundation Charity (WIFC), Dr. David Hill
Excerpts: ‘The reason I say this is really common sense, for as the population of the world increases to between 9 billion and 12.5 billion people by 2050, and as the world’s basic natural resources to sustain life dwindles to an acute situation, wars are inevitable under the dictum of the capitalist market system.’

Pleasure Peddling Gurus

Pleasure Peddling Gurus
Submitted by D. Madhusudhana Rao

“Anything you experience based on knowledge is an illusion.”
– UG Krishnamurti

“Anything you experience based on knowledge is an illusion”
– UG Krishnamurti
Which means, our pleasures, our relationships, our sorrow, our beliefs, our spiritual experiences etc etc all are based on knowledge and hence illusory?

My God!

But unlike UG, we are trapped in this web of illusions and there seems no way out and no light at the end of the tunnel?

So what next? What lies ahead?

I think we cannot do anything but live in illusion, enjoy this illusion and die in illusion!

UG freed himself from the illusion creating mechanism but was sure that he cannot help in any way to lead us out of the illusion.

But I must thank UG for enlightening us by saying that we cannot but live in this illusion forever and honestly accepting the truth that there is no way out in contrast to the pleasure peddling gurus who promise “freedom” through meditation, passive awareness and radical transformation and etc.

A Taste of Life: the Last Days of UG

May 23, 2009

Yes, the new book A Taste of of Life: the last days of U. G. Krisnamurti by Mahesh Bhatt is being released from the publisher, Penguin Books India. [Imprint: Penguin Books India, June 2009]. The Publishers brought out the Information Sheet of this release and it briefs lucidly the following text:

A Taste of LifePenguin Books India
is proud to announce the publication of
A TASTE OF LIFE
Last days of U.G. Krishnamurti
by Mahesh Bhatt
The final days that well known film-maker Mahesh Bhatt Spent with U.G. Krishnamurti

‘Those who talk about death don’t want to die. I don’t want to go and I don’t want to stay.’
– U.G. Krishnamurti

U.G. Krishnamurti famously described enlightenment as a neurobiological state of being with no religious, psychological or mystical implications. He did not lecture, did not set up organizations, held no gatherings and professed to have no message for mankind.

Known as the ‘anti-guru’, the ‘raging sage’ and the thinker who shuns thought’, U.G. spent his life destroying accepted beliefs in science, god, mind, soul, religion, love and relationships – all the props man uses to live life. Having taken away all support systems from those who came to him, he refused to replace them with those of his own; always insisting that each must find his own truth.

And when U.G. knew that it was time for him to go, he refused all attempts to prolong life with medical help. He let nature, and his body, take their course.

On the afternoon of 22 March 2007, U.G. Krishnamurti passed away in Vallecrosia, Italy.

A bare, intensely personal account of bedside vigil with the dying, A Taste of Life records the final days that well known film-maker Mahesh Bhatt spent with U.G. Krishnamurti. It
narrates how, in death, U.G. shows the author and us a way to live life.

About Mahesh Bhatt:

Mahesh Bhatt began his journey in the film industry in 1973. He broke new ground with, and received critical and commercial acclaim for Arth. He followed Arth with Saransh, Janam, Daddy, Sir, Tamanna and, finally the national award winning Zakham. Today he does not direct films but is still involved in the industry and has written screen plays for many movies, directed several documentaries and has anchored and hosted for Sahara television Haqueeqat, a show on human right violations, as well as Imaging Science, a show telecast on Doordarshan.

Mahesh Bhatt wrote U.G. Krishnamurti: A Life which has been translated into several languages. He contributes regularly to newspapers of national circulation in English as well as in Hindi. He also compiled, edited and wrote the foreword for a book of quotations of U.G. Krishnamurti called The Little Book of Questions.

What The Fuck This Life Is All About

May 18, 2009

We received an email from Linda Degaetano, and the stuff there she mentions is worth eye opening. Here is the email text:

Being a mother and grandmother, there is concern (as many women) for all of our children’s future. I also see the complete childish-ness, ego and corruption of all governments. At 60 years old, I was finally guided to UG after the last 17 years of searching for “what the fuck this life is all about” I listen to UG’s videos/audios over & over again to find some little hints or suggestions as to how to just live life more sanely and intelligently in this insane world. It was the ‘shock’ I needed to WAKE UP. Letting go of the fairy tales of religion and government lies have been very freeing (as UG has said, “..you will be less burdened”)

A few phrases sort of stayed with me which were:

“..try to find someone who can educate children without losing their innocense”

“..what kind of human do you want”

“…if what they say is true, we have the technology & enough resources to feed, clothe and shelter the world”

“..try to hold the idea of unity..”

“…don’t listen to all that crap..”

Being a mother and grandmother, there is concern (as many women) for all of our children’s future. I also see the complete childish-ness, ego and corruption of all governments.

Anyway, I eventually came upon another man (93 years old) who truly has a vision or idea of how mankind can have a future WITHOUT government, religion or money!!!

He has no ‘label’ since he has no credentials. His ideas are practical, they deal with all humanity and, when someone says his vision is idealistic, he says “it’s not idealistic, it’s practical and the decent thing to do.” He also wonders why we still have starving people on this planet. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

To me, Jacque Fresco is to the material world what UG was to the spiritual world.

And, like UG, the ‘powers that be’ don’t want anyone to hear him or his views. His views may be radical for some, but for me he just makes good old ‘common sense.’

Jacque has been trying to make a full length motion picture to get to the mainstream public. He’s an engineer who insists that even with the damage we’ve done to the earth there is enough abundance and technology TODAY to feed, clothe and shelter ALL THE PEOPLE’S of the world. Since the world is the common heritage of all species and each creature has a right to a piece of the pie. He introduces a ‘resourced-based economy’ instead of a ‘monetary-based economy.’ Jacque Fresco also wonders why we still have starving people on this planet. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!He says our problems are not political, they are technological. Except that the technology (as UG has pointed out) is not used for the common good. I wanted to somehow reach Mahesh Bhatt since he spent so much time with UG and is a film maker. Maybe he would be interested (as well as yourself and others) to check out Jacque Fresco on YouTube and also PLEASE check out his website (www.thevenusproject.com). He’s the only person I’ve read about and listened to who has practical, unbiased opinions and solutions for the world’s present situation instead of everyone “talking, talking, talking”

We’ve seen (in America) so many pictures of sick and starving children all over the world (and there are many even here). But I realize the elite and rich are also starving because with all that they have, they still need more. They are like tapeworms which can never get enough.

I’ve been sending emails to as Anyway, I eventually came upon another man (Jacque Fresco) (93 years old) who truly has a vision or idea of how mankind can have a future WITHOUT government, religion or money!!!many American celebrities as I can (the ones who SAY they truly care about humanity) to see if they’ll help him. We’ll see what happens. He has been invited to several countries to lecture and get the word out. I doubt if anything will begin in America since most of us are so asleep (or should I say in coma)!! They don’t want anyone to ‘rock the boat.’ The boat’s not only rocking, it’s sinking. Anyway, I hope you’ll pass on this info to anyone and everyone. Maybe, just maybe humans will not be the only species to eradicate itself. Thank you so much. Peace to you!
